What we like about the Ecler THIA-2T is that it makes it possible to distribute high-quality video over longer distances without being tied to long HDMI cable runs. It sends 4K video over a managed Gigabit Ethernet network, with up to 100 metres of transmission over Cat 6 cabling and just 1–2 frames of latency. The HDMI loop-through is particularly handy, as it lets you connect a local display while also sending the signal across the network. We also like the built-in USB, IR and RS-232 pass-through for remote equipment control. With PoE support and HDR compatibility, it’s a flexible option for more demanding AV installations.
