Description.

The Ecler BOB-22 is a compact 2-input, 2-output Dante™/AES67 audio over IP interface designed to connect analogue audio equipment to networked audio systems. It converts two MIC/LINE analogue inputs into digital audio channels for transmission over an Ethernet network, while converting two Dante™/AES67 channels back into line-level analogue outputs for use with amplifiers, mixers and other audio equipment.

Ideal for professional commercial audio and AV installations, the BOB-22 makes it easier to integrate analogue sources and destinations into a Dante™ or AES67 network. Its PoE (Power over Ethernet) support allows it to receive power directly from a compatible network switch, helping simplify installation and reduce the need for separate power supplies. An optional 24V DC power supply is also available separately.

As a generic Dante™/AES67 device, the Ecler BOB-22 audio interface can work with EclerNet, EclerPLEX, VIDA and HALO products that support Dante, as well as compatible third-party equipment. It is important to note that the BOB-22 is not a native EclerNet or EclerPLEX guest unit, making it best suited to applications where standard Dante™/AES67 network integration is required.

We like the Ecler BOB-22 because it’s a simple solution to a problem that can otherwise make an installation more awkward than it needs to be. If you want to bring a couple of microphones or analogue audio sources into a Dante network, or take network audio back out to conventional equipment, it handles both without a lot of fuss. The PoE support is a nice touch too, helping keep cabling and power arrangements tidy. For us, it’s a good example of a product that does one job well, giving installers more freedom to work with the equipment they already have.
